Parents Can Search for Properties Near to Good Schools

A new website called House Points has been launched to help parents choose a good school, and find a home within a school catchment area.

Simon Brown, creator of the site, said, “Given the number of inspections that schools have to go through, I was amazed that parents could not do a simple Internet search to find a good school, and more importantly, find a home near to that school.”

House Points has been launched against a backdrop of massive demand for good state schools and shrinking school catchment areas. According to recent government statistics, over 50% of children miss out on their chosen school in certain parts of the country. As a result, houses near to a good comprehensive school can demand a 12% premium over those that are not.

Parents can also search for schools which excel in areas that matter to them and their children, including schools with outstanding Ofsted and GCSE results.

Property owners and estate agents can list their properties on the site, allowing them to sell, or let properties to those who want to live near to a good school
