Landscape Structures Supports Park & Recreation Agencies with Scholarships for Speakers at State Conferences

With the growing number of Americans at risk for heart disease and obesity, it is vital that communities address the crowding, pollution and unhealthiness that faces our nation. One way communities focus on this is by providing parks and recreation spaces. These areas—home to playgrounds, walking trails, gardens and athletic fields—offer a place where people can play, relax and come together.
Landscape Structures Inc., a Delano, Minn.-based commercial playground equipment manufacturer, is proud to partner with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to support the work of parks and recreation professionals. One way that the play equipment manufacturer is working with park and recreation agencies to help them reach their goals is by offering the State Association Speaker Scholarship program.
The 2011-2012 State Association Speaker Scholarship program will support the appearances of speakers at park and recreation conferences. State associations that are chosen will receive a scholarship of up to $ 2,500 to support conference speakers whose messages are focused on topics related to environmental stewardship, play or other professional development topics. Scholarship applications will be accepted on a rolling basis from Aug. 1, 2011 to July 31, 2012, and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
