K’NEXpert Grand Prize Winners Lauded with Special Event

K’NEX Brands, America’s building toy company focused on Building Worlds Kids Love™, celebrated the 2011 K’NEXpert Search Grand Prize winners with a special one-day event at K’NEX headquarters. On December 2nd, the three winners: 6 year old Wesley from Ottawa, ON, Canada, 8 year old William from Sadler, TX, and 9 year old Melissa from Plano, TX traveled to Hatfield, PA as guests of K’NEX President Michael Araten.
“The K’NEXpert Search is our way of giving back to the K’NEX builders who are the lifeblood of our company, and honoring the incredible imagination of children. We are continually inspired by the K’NEXperts and their jaw-dropping creations,” said Araten.
The winners received their award checks, enjoyed a lunch with K’NEX designers, and received a private factory tour. The day culminated with an opportunity for the Grand Prize Winners to stock up on their favorite K’NEX parts and pieces directly from the warehouse. Throughout the day, the three young builders’ award-winning models were displayed at K’NEX headquarters.
The nationwide K’NEXpert Search challenges kids ages 5-12 to submit original designs made entirely out of K’NEX pieces. In addition to their trip to K’NEX headquarters, the Grand Prize winners were awarded $ 10,000 U.S. Savings Bonds to be used for their college education.
