401(k) Rekon Announces New Financial Advisor Symposium Called Team 401(k); Major Providers Work Together to Train Advisors
Wilmington, NC (Vocus) April 12, 2010
The one-day symposium is designed to help financial advisors leverage the resources of providers, analyze existing 401(k) plans, and present proposals. “The biggest challenges advisors face when building a 401(k) practice are time and complexity.” According to 401(k) Rekon™ CEO Ross Marino, CFP®, ChFC®. Building a successful 401(k) practice involves leadership and knowledge. Advisors cannot become 401(k) experts overnight, so forming a team is necessary for success.
Team 401(k)™ will show advisors how to target larger plans by building a team of providers. From identifying prospects and analyzing their current plans, to presenting a proposal, the Team 401(k)™ symposium provides the tools and knowledge financial advisors need to become more confident.
According to 401(k) Rekon™ CEO Ross Marino, CFP®, the symposium concept was a collaborative effort. “A wholesaler shared how his company runs boot-camps for less experienced advisors,” said Marino, “then I explained my concept for training advisors who want to move up market. We bounced ideas off of each other, and eventually Team 401(k)™ was created.”
The first Team 401(k)™ symposium, limited to 80 advisors, is scheduled for June, 2010, in Raleigh, North Carolina. In August, Team 401(k)™ will be held in Cleveland, Oh. Later this year, other symposiums are planned for North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia. Provider teams are being formed for future symposiums. 401(k) providers can visit http://www.401kRekon.com or email info (at) 401kRekon (dot) com for more information.
Team 401(k)™ is designed for advisors who spend less than 50% of their time managing 401(k) plans. 401(k) Rekon™ will host a different symposium, called the Value-Add symposium, on May 21st, 2010 in Charlotte, NC. Unlike the Team 401(k)™ symposium, the Value-Add symposium targets experienced financial advisors who focus on 401(k) plans already.
“Successful 401(k) advisors are usually successful leaders. They have learned to coordinate a team of 401(k) providers and leverage their resources,” stated Marino. “Like our online 401(k) provider database, the symposium will help advisors learn what resources are available, and how to use them in their practices.”
401(k) Rekon™ is an industry-leading provider of research and training for financial advisors, empowering them to build more successful retirement plan practices. At the core of their new site is a unique 401(k) database providing directions and links to locate resources and product information. Presented in concise summaries, it contains the name of each resource, the intended audience (401(k) advisor, plan sponsor, plan participant), and format (flyer, PowerPoint, etc.).

Hey, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using WordPress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?
